Mineral Bath Soak Ingredients

EPSOM SALT (MAGNESIUM SULFATE)

Magnesium is found in abundance in the body and can be purchased both as a dietary supplement and also for therapeutic use in soaking salts. We use USP (pharmaceutical grade) epsom salt in our bath salts to guarantee the highest quality, purity, and potency. Magnesium can support circulation, ease sore muscles, help to relieve minor aches and pains/swelling/tension/restlessness and promote relaxation of the mind and body. Soaking for a minimum of 15 minutes will help the body absorb more magnesium for greater benefit. 

SEA SALT (SODIUM CHLORIDE) 

We use the highest quality food grade Pacific sea salt from the California coat. Sea salt softens the water, and thus helps to soften the skin while cleansing, and detoxifying. Sea salt also supports minor aches and pains, promotes circulation, calms irritation, and is especially beneficial for dry and/or itchy skin. 

COLLOIDAL OAT NON-GMO (AVENA SATIVA)

Colloidal oats (finely ground) have a long history of use for supporting dry, irritated and inflamed or itchy skin. The soothing property of the oat supports a myriad of skin-related issues. Oats contain saponins, a compound with natural cleansing abilities. Saponins combined with naturally occurring zinc in oats are supportive for congested and breakout prone skin, helping to unclog pores, calm and heal. Oats also contain polysaccharides which have humectant-like properties, binding to the acid mantel of the skin to further create a protective barrier. Carbohydrates and proteins in the oat help to moisturize while lipids and flavonoids have antioxidant capability. The colloidal oats in our vetiver and bergamot mineral bath soak easily dissolve in the water and permeate the body, soothing dry skin and gently exfoliating to remove dead skin cells, reduce dry skin and help to restore pH. Clinical studies have shown the effectiveness of colloidal oats in supporting skin conditions such as dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, and acne. 

FRENCH GREEN CLAY (MONTMORILLONITE)

Our French green clay comes from naturally occurring clay deposits in France, is untreated and has a lovely soft texture. Green clay is rich in silica, magnesium, iron, and calcium and is gently exfoliating and detoxifying. French green clay is drawing, pulling out impurities and toxins while balancing excess oil. Its astringent action creates circulation and brings oxygen to the surface of the skin, minimizing the appearance of pores for a glowing, soft and balanced complexion.

FRENCH PINK CLAY (KAOLIN)

Kaolin clay (rose clay) comes from France and is one of the gentlest clays. It is highly adsorbent, cleansing and supportive for dry and inflamed skin. The most abundant mineral found in the kaolin clay is a white mineral called kaolinite, which draws out impurities, dirt and excess oil from the pores without causing redness or irritation. 

ORGANIC & FAIR TRADE MATCHA GREEN TEA (CAMELLIA SINENSIS)

The cultivation of green tea dates back to the 7th century with the Tang Dynasty in China. The Japanese perfected the cultivation of Matcha, and it has been part of their culture for over 800 years. Matcha means "ground tea" and the shade grown process that happens 2-4 weeks before harvest increases the plants chlorophyll and L-theanine production. Matcha contains very high levels of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a powerful compound in green tea that helps protect the skin from environmental damage, supports a healthy inflammatory response and promotes even skin tone. Matcha can help reduce puffiness, and work to clear up blemishes and tighten the pores. The high antioxidant activity of matcha supports oily skin, fights acne causing bacteria, and increases circulation and blood flow for glowing skin. 

ORGANIC ROSE PETAL POWDER (ROSA DAMASCENA)

Our pink rose petal powder is ground from organic rose petals. For centuries, roses have been revered for their beauty, their captivating sweet and floral fragrance and skin benefiting qualities. The first use of rose essential oil dates back to 10th Century Persia and the great Arab physician, Avicenna who harvested the flowers and distilled the oil. The addition of rose petal powder in our rose petal and geranium mineral soak imbibes the comforting and soothing quality of the rose. Roses radiates love, and have traditionally been called the "queen of flowers."

ORGANIC EUCALYPTUS ESSENTIAL OIL (EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS)

Eucalyptus (also called Tasmanian Blue Gum) is a tall evergreen tree native to Australia. Our eucalyptus oil is extracted from the leaf using the steam distillation method. Eucalyptus has a camphoraceous, strong, woodsy, herbaceous and fresh aroma. It is cooling, calming, and invigorating. Eucalyptus is an analgesic (pain reliever) and supports burns and infections. It also supports the respiratory system, and promotes immune stimulation. 

ORGANIC LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL (LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA) 

Lavender (also known as True Lavender, and English Lavender) is a true beauty with a rich history growing wild in the Mediterranean. Our lavender oil is extracted from the flower using the steam distillation method. Lavender has a fresh, sweet, herbaceous, floral and slightly fruity scent and is balancing, calming, relaxing, and soothing. 

ORGANIC SWEET ORANGE ESSENTIAL OIL (CITRUS SINENSIS)

Our sweet orange essential oil is extracted using the cold-pressed method. Native to China and India, the United States is now one of the world's largest producers of the fruit. Historically, oranges symbolize generosity, prosperity, and happiness, which makes sense considering that orange essential oil has an uplifting, brightening, fruity and sweet aroma. Sweet orange oil can promotes circulation, is anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antibacterial. It is also a disinfectant and stimulant (lymphatic). 

ORGANIC VETIVER ESSENTIAL OIL (VETIVERIA ZIZANIOIDES)

Our vetiver essential oil is steam distilled from the vetiver roots. Vetiver is an incredibly hardy and adaptive tall growing grass native to India with a long history of use in perfumery due to its fixative properties. Vetiver has a strong root system (6-13 feet deep) that helps to reduce soil loss, stabilize steep banks, and secure topsoil. Vetiver has a sweet, earthy, herbaceous, warm and woody aroma and is deeply relaxing, grounding, and balancing. 

ORGANIC BERGAMOT ESSENTIAL OIL (CITRUS BERGAMIA) 

Our bergamot essential oil is extracted from the fruit using the cold expression method. The Bergamot citrus tree is named after the small town of Bergamo in Northern Italy where it was "discovered" and cultivated; however, many say bergamot is native to India and called "The King of Pears" because of its shape. Bergamot is an extremely versatile essential oil. It's relaxing, calming, uplifting and has a delightfully citrusy, fresh, woodsy, and slightly floral scent with spicy undertones. 

ORGANIC GERANIUM ESSENTIAL OIL (PELARGONIUM GRAVEOLENS) 

Geranium is a perennial shrub that grows about 5’ tall and the essential oil is made by steam distillation using the flower. Geranium, also called ‘rose geranium’ has a sweet, fruity, floral and rose-like scent and is known for its regulating quality. Therapeutically, geranium is an astringent, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and promotes lymphatic health.  

ORGANIC LEMON ESSENTIAL OIL (CITRUS LIMON) 

The lemon comes from a small evergreen tree (a hybrid of wild plants) and its exact origin is unknown, but some say the lemon tree is from East India. Our lemon essential oil is cold pressed from the peel and is wonderfully cleansing, clarifying, and cheering. Therapeutically, the lemon is anti-septic, anti-bacterial, and supports oily and/or dull skin.
